The prove of Dilbert`s “Salary Theorem”

13th Aug, 2007 | No Comment | Posted in Umum

Some fun stuff to start this new week! ;)
Dilbert`s “Salary Theorem” states that ‘Engineers and scientest can never earn as much as business executives, sales people, accountants and especially liberal arts major’ . This is a pretty good stuff for pyhsics enthusiast or engineers to be. Behold the truth of the jobmarket:

Postulate 1:  Knowledge is Power ; (Knowledge = Power)
postulate 2:  Time is money ; (Time = money)

as every of us know (with some physics background needed)

Power = Work / time
from postulate 1: Power=Knowledge,

So,  Knowledge = Work / time

from postulate 2: time = money

then, Knowledge = Work / Money

Solving for money, then:  Money = Work / Knowledge

Thus, Money is maximum when knowledge is minimum (given the work is the same)
And also, Money is infinitely available when the Knowledge approaches zero (as in Dilbert`s Boss)
This also explain why most of knowledge-able worker getting  less money as more knowledge will bring less money corresponding to the resultant postulate.

Dilbert`s Salary theorem is once again approved.

ps: Adakah anda perasan yg institusi pengajian tinggi di malaysia sekarang producing workforce (worker) ? So, it is good to be entrepeneur for now and future as we can get hold of abundant, cheap expert worker in this country! Happy 50th Independence day!
